Blake Hinson Returning to Pitt
p/c: Pitt Athletics
Pitt forward Blake Hinson has decided to withdraw from the NBA Draft, and will be returning to school, for his senior year.
Hinson was one of a few notable players that transferred to the University of Pittsburgh last year. Before leaving for the transfer portal, he had been with Iowa State, as a medical redshirt.
The 2022-23 season was Hinson’s most productive - recording 15.3 points per game, and 6.0 rebounds - both of which were career bests.
Behind the arc is Hinson’s strong suit, as he sank three-pointers at a 38.0% mark, while his 97 triples led the entire ACC.
Hinson played a vital role, with the Panthers this past season, and those efforts were enough to be named to the All-ACC second team.
The consensus seemed to be that Hinson would not be drafted, so it’s not a surprise that he will be staying at Pitt. While Jeff Capel has brought in some more key transfers, the return of Hinson gives the Panthers a true, volume shooter.
