Myles Jack Returning to the Steelers

A familiar face is returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers, as veteran inside linebacker Myles Jack will be joining the team’s practice squad.
Jack had originally signed with Pittsburgh in March of 2022 on a two-year contract worth $16 million.
After a good first half of the season last year, Jack dealt with a knee injury that hampered his performance.
This past offseason, the Steelers made the decision to release Jack from his contract.
On August 6th, Jack reached a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, it was two weeks later that he would announce his retirement from football.
Heading into the 2023 season, the Steelers’ ILB depth was considered a strength, but it’s been depleted since then, with the injuries to Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander - both of which were season-ending.
Elandon Roberts finds himself at the top of the ILB chart, and has responded very well in that role. Once he gets re-established, Jack will likely find himself getting elevated to the Steelers’ main roster at some point.
